About API Keys So You Only Pay Wholesale Prices For Data / Services
What Is An API Key?

Business that offer services and/or data often provide a way for other platforms to:
- Access their data and services on their own platforms.
- Build other services and functionality around the data and services they provide.
Why Do I Need API Keys?
Twilio is a communications services provider that does not itself offer communications services. It allows other businesses to build platforms around their infrastructure in order to utilize their services.
Most business phone service providers (like Local Service Heroes) build their communications platforms "on top" of Twilio.
When you sign up for Twilio, you effectively become a "service provider". In this case of course, you don't have to build anything. We've already built it. Therefore, all you need is your "Twilio Credentials" - A Twilio SID and a Twilio Token - to access Twilio services via the Local Service Heroes platform.
Just a $30 credit will likely cover months of communications charges - because now you're paying wholesale prices.
Because you're using an API, you're paying Twilio for all services directly, services like buying phone numbers and air time.
OpenAI is the same in principle. They provide "API access" so that we could build systems on top of their system. We built Ad Creator, Content Creator and Call Voice Transcription to identify Voice 1, Voice 2, etc., on top of OpenAI.
When you sign up with them (must be a Pro account) a $20 credit is probably more than enough for months of use.)
D7 Lead Finder is also the same principle. We built the data extraction interface in Local Service Heroes so that you can access all the data you need for local B2B leads, directly and easily through Local Service Heroes, for use in your own marketing. Use this data for Soft Sell campaigns and for B2B Shared cost marketing or any of your local marketing, outside of Local Service Heroes.
Once you sign up for any of these services, and install your API keys, you will not have to log into these separate services, since you'll be accessing all the integrated services and features, through the Local Service Heroes Platform.
To hook up with these services and to get your API keys, follow the tutorials in the API Setup section.
Adding API Keys To Your Local Service Heroes Profile
Follow along with each number in this list, relating to a numbered step in the images below.
- From Twilio, you will be given 2 codes. An "SID" - which is like an account number, and a "Token", which is your "key" that allows connection to a specific application. In this case, the application is the Local Service Heroes platform. All you need to do is paste them into your profile (in the appropriate field) and click "Save." Now you have unlocked the full power of the entire communications system.
- All charges for phone numbers, air time and messaging are paid to Twilio - not us, and there's no markup for communications services or features.
- From OpenAI, you will get a single "API Key." You will automatically get an API key, but only with the Pro account.
- From D7 Lead Finder you will also only get one API key, and also only with the Pro account.
