Although the system was disigned for tracking and optimizing your marketing campaigns, you can use it just like any other phone system. You can even use the phone number for personal use, or to "hide" your mobile phone number.
Our system simply has many other features that are not available through any other service provider.
Including the ability to buy phone numbers, air time and messaging just like a phone services provider.
Which is why you need to get a free account at Twilio, and paste in your SID and Token - that's it.
When you buy a phone number through our system you're hooked into Twilio and are actually buying it from them - for $1.15/num/mo for local numbers and $2.25/num/mo for toll free.
You own the numbers, not us. All your numbers, charges and air time will appear in your Twilio account. We do not charge anything for air time, SMS, etc.
You can release / cancel a number any time too.
Note: When you buy a number, make sure you write it down because you'll need it to create your marketing campaigns. If you misplace the number, you can always log into Twilio to get it.
Note: All phone numbers are set up as "Campaigns," which is how you assign calll forwarding, voicemail, etc. If you're using a number for other business purposes - like customer service, or even as a personal number, the process and the functions are the same.
Buying Phone Numbers
Navigate to "Settings," then to "Purchase Number."
- You can select local number or toll free. It's generally not recommended to use a toll free for local marketing. Response rates are typically very low.
- Select "Area Code" from the dropdown.
- Enter the area code you'd like a number for. There may be several area code in your area, so you may have to look at several of them. Particlularly in heavily populated metro areas. Not all area codes may be available.
- Click "Search" and you'll get a list of numbers with details and functionality.
- When you decide on a number, just click "Buy." A pop-up will confirm your purchase. Done. You can now use it for any campaign.
